Consequently to the work “Acqua Dura”, I have been keeping experimenting on the phenomenon of erosion. Starting from the fact that I wanted to keep nature as author and creator of my images, I started placing photographic paper inside caves. The paper has been carefully placed inside pitch black cavities, and left there for thirty days.
Inside the cavities some chemical processes got going, and generated abstract images on the paper. Thanks to the microclimate and to the acid water which flows through the holes, the emulsion dissolved, changed colours, and molds started flourishing on top of the paper.
The paper is now part of the natural processes of the cave, and vice-versa the cave itself left a permanent mark of a never ending mutation.
